About the Film
Midnight Traveler is a 2019 autobiographical documentary that chronicles the harrowing, multi-year journey of Afghan filmmaker Hassan Fazili, his wife Fatima Hussaini, and their two young daughters. After the Taliban places a bounty on Fazili’s head, the family is forced to flee their home and use three smartphones to document their perilous quest for asylum in Europe.
