General Description:

As an integral part of the Welcome Corps Team, the Manager, Application Coaching (MAC)  oversees a team of coaches (5 – 7 FTEs) assisting sponsors across the United States to apply for the Welcome Corps program. The MAC will train, manage, and assist this team of coaches to support sponsors through Zoom and phone meetings, as well as email, text and phone communication. This position requires strong customer service skills, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to engage with sponsors and solve problems. The MAC will also maintain a certain number of direct coaching sessions themselves with sponsors. The MAC will also maintain certain data reporting for the program and coaches that report to them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Recruit, Train, and Manage Application Coaches (5 – 7 FTEs) providing support to sponsors

IRIS is looking for a full-time Case Manager to join our Intensive Case Management (ICM) program team. This program is funded through a Preferred Communities (PC) grant from the Office of Refugee Resettlement. It provides 6 to 12 months of intensive case management support to refugees, asylees and Special Immigrant Visa holders who face mental and physical health barriers to their resettlement as well as other risk factors. 

General Description
The PC Case Manager serves a relatively small caseload of high-needs clients. The PC Case Manager conducts assessments, develops service plans, provides direct service, refers clients for additional services and advocates for their specific needs to be met. The PC grant demands that case managers comply with strict administrative requirements. The Case Manager works in tandem with another PC Case Manager and within a larger Health & Wellness team.

Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and comfortable coming into contact with other people.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Conducts assessments to determine client needs and eligibility for PC services
  • Develops an individualized service plan focused on the clients’ self-sufficiency goals
  • Maintains frequent contact with assigned cases, including home visits (once a month minimum, but more as needed). (PC Case Managers use their own discretion with regard to wearing masks during home visits).
  • Assists clients in accessing appropriate external services and public benefits
  • Coordinates with other IRIS staff and community providers for services including English class, childcare, education, health care, employment, immigration legal services, mental health services, addiction services, disability services and benefits, housing services, etc.
  • Ensures clients’ basic needs (housing, food, clothing, etc.) are addressed and that as soon as possible they can meet these needs on their own.
  • Transports and accompanies clients to appointments for various services and helps them find ways to get to their appointments independently.
  • Provides additional community and cultural orientation, as needed
  • Provides crisis intervention and/or arranges for this to be provided, as needed.
  • Ensures that proper language interpretation and translation are provided as needed for meetings with clients and for important written documents.
  • Maintains case files, case notes and required documentation for each case.
  • Maintains and update PC database with client information, periodic assessments, resources and gaps; completes  referrals, closes and transfers cases – all in a timely manner as required by guidelines
  • Participates in PC program network meetings
  • Participates in regular H&W and CM team meetings.

General Description
As an integral part of the Community Sponsorship Team, the CS Coach (CSC) works with community groups throughout the US in partnership with the Sponsor Circles Program, the Welcome Corps Program, the IRIS Co-Sponsorship Program, Church World Service, and other national or local partners. The CSC works primarily with the Associate Director of Welcome Corps, the Sponsor Circles Program Manager, and other Sponsor Circle Umbrella or Welcome Corps coaches to facilitate sponsorship groups in successfully welcoming refugee families. Success for the CSC will be achieved by proactively supporting ~25+ sponsorship groups across all programs, pursuing the most current information to support newcomers and sponsors in each state, collaborating with other members of the IRIS Sponsorship Team and providing extraordinary service for supporters of all levels. This position interacts with partners and sponsor groups across the U.S.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Welcome Corps (WC) and Sponsor Circle Program (SCP) Group Oversight and Resettlement Coach

  • Assists IRIS Welcome Corps and SCP Team as needed to recruit, vet and certify new Private Sponsor Groups (PSGs) and Sponsor Circles (SCs) in accordance with CSH processes and procedures.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with assigned PSGs and SCs (up to 50), ensuring they understand their responsibilities and are able to stay on track with priorities.
  • Serves as a partner to SCs in building their applications to CSH, including development of thorough Welcome Plans and fundraising plans.
  • Researches state-to-state resources for PSGs and SCs, shares best practices and guidance on pre- and post-arrival responsibilities and issues with volunteer groups, serving as a point of contact for helping navigate housing, understanding boundaries, enrollments in public benefits, ESL, school, employment, health services, legal services and cultural orientation.
  • Conducts weekly check-ins with PSG/SC contacts and holds weekly “drop-in” office hours
  • Problem solve issues that arise with PSG/SC contacts as necessary, referring to IRIS Sponsorship Team members and other partners and resources as needed.
  • Provides support for other PSG/SC activities as needed.

General Description:
The need for a Development Assistant comes at a pivotal time in IRIS’s history. In recent years the organization has seen tremendous growth in programs, client volume, staff size, and operational budget. Having recently assumed responsibility for IRIS’s government grants portfolio, the Development team is responsible for raising $12M annually through a mix of contracted and contributed revenue streams. With continued growth projected for 2023 and beyond, the current fundraising strategy places equal emphasis on grants and contributions. Under the guidance and supervision of the Annual Fund Manager, the Development Assistant serves as the backbone of donor relations by overseeing all administrative processes for gift and record maintenance. Additionally, the Development Assistant provides support for events, donor stewardship, major giving and in-kind donations. As an integral part of the Community Engagement Department, the Development Assistant will also work closely with the Director of Community Engagement, the Associate Director of Development, the CRM Manager, and members of the Communications and
Outreach Teams. The Development Assistant will work a hybrid, in office 3x per week schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Manage the department’s general email account, responding to inquiries as able or forwarding to appropriate staff as necessary. Respond to donor requests and general inquiries.
● Maintain accuracy of constituent records in CRM database. Manage all updates of personal information, contact details and communication preferences. Ensure constituents are coded appropriately and that mailing lists are updated regularly
● Manage gift entry and gift acknowledgement processes. Enter donations in CRM database daily, and work closely with Finance Department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of recording donor gifts. Produce acknowledgement letters on a weekly basis for all financial and in-kind gifts, including in honor/memory tribute acknowledgements. Maintain electronic filing system for copies of gift documentation and gift acknowledgements.

Job Summary & General Responsibilities:
The Employment Services Specialist 1 (ESS) contributes to the effort to help refugees, asylees and other immigrants find gainful employment and become self-sufficient. The ESS meets with new clients to provide employment orientation, conduct employment assessments, create resumes and assist individuals with their job search. The ESS
works with and helps manage the team of ES interns and volunteers. The ESS works in concert with Case Management, Health & Wellness and Education staff to trouble-shoot obstacles to clients’ employment. The ESS helps maintain data collection and information sharing systems necessary for programming planning, reporting and
continuity. The ESS will focus mainly on R&P and RSS employment services.

The Summer Learning Program (SLP) is a six-week school readiness program that strives to meet the educational and social-emotional needs of recently arrived refugee and immigrant students by boosting their English proficiency, bridging the academic gap between school years, celebrating cultures and artistic traditions, deepening the connection to their new homes, developing the skills for navigating a multicultural society, and providing a safe space and time for recreation and play.

Program Overview
Hartford SLP runs from Monday, June 24 to Friday, August 2. This program serves 80-100 students, ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. The students are divided into five separate groups based on their age and academic level, with each group consisting of approximately 15-20 students. The lead teachers are responsible for the daily coordination of their respective classes, working in close collaboration with an assistant teacher, with additional support from interns and volunteers.

Schedule
Students attend the program Monday-Friday from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm, with an extended day on Thursdays for field trips (until 2:30 pm). Teachers arrive on-site at 9:00 every morning and finish by 2:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and by 3:00 on Wednesdays (field trips) and Fridays (staff meetings) for an average of 27 in-program hours, plus an average of 6 hours of planning time per week. Before the start of SLP, teachers are required to attend a series of online orientation sessions in May and June covering TESOL strategies and best practices, social-emotional learning, restorative justice, and de-escalation. There will be a mandatory in-person workshop on problem-based learning and diversity, equity, and inclusion on May 18 for all staff.
